Description

Healthcare should be a basic human right; however, not everyone in the U.S. can afford it, and millions are struggling to gain access due to inadequate or lack of insurance coverage, high out of pocket expenses, and the rising cost of treatment and medication. Many low-income and middle-class families have no choice but to delay treating their health issues or resort to inadequate treatment. It is our country’s civil responsibility to prioritize every person’s health and well-being equally, regardless of race, class, and financial status. We have a duty to each other to not only advocate for affordable healthcare for all, but to also build healthier, more equitable communities for future generations. Today, we will discuss the impact, causes, and possible solutions that could ease this crucial national issue and lead us to a better tomorrow.
