Description

Veterans in the United States suffer from a lack of access to mental healthcare following their time in service. This scarcity of treatment perpetuates a cycle of homelessness, addiction, and suicide. This inherent, systemic cycle of veteran suffering is poignantly disrespectful and uncivil. Efforts made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the civilian population can alleviate these issues by acting through a lens of civility. This presentation will offer information pertaining to this issue and the steps that can be taken to help end it.
