While not OERs, Talking Book Centers or Libraries for the Blind are great resources not only for those with visual or physical impairments, but with reading disabilities as well. Audiobooks often get a bad rap, but studies show that they can be effective for learning and even reading development.
Outcomes:
- Awareness of how audiobooks can be effective in learning both content and reading skills and, as such, can expand the reach of other content.
- Awareness of free resources for students and lifelong learners with visual, physical, or reading disabilities that prevent them from using traditional books.
- How copyright facilitates the local creation of audio content for eligible users, helping to ensure accessible resources for all.
