Presentation Abstract or Description
AAPI self-reported more negative followership traits than non-AAPI. This finding supports a "pull effect" explanation for the lack of Asian Americans in leadership (i.e., the bamboo ceiling): Asian American identity and followership align, fostering attraction to subordinate roles. Interventions and the influence of Asian humility on self-report measures are discussed.
