Seattle University: a century of Jesuit education

On the occasion of Seattle University’s centenary in 1991, Fr. William J. Sullivan, S.J. engaged the talent of Walt Crowley, local author, historian and co-founder of HistoryLink.org, to tell the story of Seattle University: A century of Jesuit education. It is an important chronicle of Jesuit history in the Pacific Northwest, the early beginnings of Jesuit education in Seattle, and the turbulence and prosperity in building the Seattle University we know today. It is also the university’s most significant compendium of beloved priests and benefactors, prominent students and athletes, campus growth, significant events and honors, and the renewal of Jesuit mission for education and service.
