Founded in 1980 by a group of artists, art patrons, and arts activists, CoCA' s noted inaugural 1982 exhibition was James Turrell's "Four Light Installations" at the Lippy Building in Pioneer Square. Originally existing without a permanent space, CoCA has presented the work of over 3,000 established and emerging artists in numerous locations in Seattle. CoCA located in the Tashiro Kaplan Building in 2016.
