Abstract
Graduate school is a time of growth and change for many people and as such, also an important time to reflect. Seattle University’s Student Devel- opment Administration (SDA) program asks its students to apply their in-class learning to out of class experiences. The SDA program has four themes which it uses as a foundation for prepar- ing their students for work in the field of higher education: (1) understanding students; (2) un- derstanding and fostering diversity; (3) ethics and values; and (4) environment and culture. Using these four program themes, the author shares moments of personal growth and change throughout the past two years while also explor- ing the view the author has on the student affairs profession.
