Abstract
This paper examines real-life scenarios from my role as an Assistant Area Co- ordinator at a mid-size liberal arts university. It outlines one purpose of student affairs utilizing a case study. It then highlights key values that motivate my work, addressing both authenticity and growth. Finally, the paper concludes with explor- ing student development theories that resonate with the author, providing exam- ples of how these theories play out within housing and residence life, and connect them back to the values identified earlier.
