Abstract
Enrollment trends in higher education in the United States have changed over the last few decades to be less male and less white. Nancy S. Niemi provides a bleak outlook at where and how power and dominance shift among these changing de- mographics of college students. She offers a compelling account of the ways pow- er and privilege adjust to maintain male dominance in society. As thoroughly re- searched as the work is, however, it seldom wanders out of the heteronormative world, and fails to address non-binary gender identities that are increasingly visible among college student populations. She ends the book with 10 important remind - ers that practitioners of higher education should keep in mind, which have impor- tant implications for student affairs professionals.
