Abstract
The purpose of this project proposal is to present a focused state of the science paper discussing the benefit(s) of Art as Therapy (AAT) for asylum-seeking Refugee Youth following resettlement. Ultimately, the aims of this project are specific towards achieving a partnership between a Secondary Bilingual Orientation Center (SBOC) and community-based organizations which support and promote the Fine Arts by 1) describing the Refugee "Experience" 2) highlighting the subsequent trauma that may follow resettlement 3) introducing AAT 4) promoting recreational, after school, Art-as- therapy program for a SBOC and 5) providing a grant proposal draft for SBOC's use to pursue future collaboration with non-profit funding agencies in order to make an after-school AAT program a reality.
