Abstract
The purpose of this article is to illuminate the ways that microfinance programs, health, and empowerment intersect. The method section, included at the beginning of the paper, details the techniques employed to gather information. The search results, with attention paid to emerging themes, are followed by a discussion of those themes and items for consideration by advanced practice community health nurses involved in program development. The paper concludes with recommendations for further study.
