Abstract
Aortic dissection is a rare, but life-threatening situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to prevent further complications that can lead to death. There are numerous risk factors for aortic dissection. Marfan syndrome, a connective tissue disorder, accounts for 16% of aortic dissections.5 Its classic appearance on ultrasound permits echocardiography to play a huge role in improving prognosis and expediting medical intervention prior to the incidence of dissection by following-up aortic size and appearance in individuals with Marfan syndrome.
